Terms of service

Last updated: 5 November 2026.

These terms apply when you use Nutrition Calculatior at nutritioncalculatior.com ("the service"). The service is provided by Martin Funkquist, a private individual in Sweden ("we", "us"). By using the service or creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What the service does

The service shows nutrient data for foods from USDA FoodData Central, compares foods, and calculates the nutrients of recipes. Signed-in users can save their own recipes and choose to share them publicly. We also publish recipes of our own, such as popular recipes from social media.

All values are estimates. They depend on the database records and the amounts entered, and may contain errors. The service is for general information only. It is not medical, dietary or nutritional advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Your account

You need an account to save recipes. Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time from your My recipes page; this deletes your saved recipes, including any public ones, and your profile.

Public recipes

Your recipes are private unless you choose to share one in the recipe search. A public recipe's name, ingredients, number of servings and nutrition can be seen by anyone, including people who are not signed in and search engines. Your name and email are not shown. You can make a recipe private again, or delete it, at any time. Search engines may keep showing a page for a while after that.

Your recipes remain yours. By making a recipe public, you give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to store and show it on the service, and to let others view it there, for as long as it is public.

When you make a recipe public, you confirm that:

  • you have the right to share it, and it does not copy text or other material that belongs to someone else;
  • it contains no personal information about you or anyone else, such as names, email addresses or phone numbers;
  • it is not unlawful, hateful, offensive, misleading or advertising, and it is not spam.

Recipe names are checked automatically for links, contact details, advertising and offensive words. A recipe whose name may contain them is held: it stays out of the recipe search, and only you can open it, until we have reviewed it.

Anyone can report a public recipe with the link on its page. We may hide or remove public recipes that break these terms or the law, with or without notice. A hidden recipe stays saved in your account but cannot be made public again; contact us if you think we made a mistake.

Recipes we publish

Some recipes on the recipes page come from social media. We show their ingredients and our nutrition estimates, credit their creators and link to the original recipe for the method. If you are one of them and want your recipe changed or removed, contact us.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service in a way that breaks the law or the rights of others;
  • send automated requests to the service, or copy its content in bulk;
  • interfere with the service, its security or other users.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Availability and changes to the service

We try to keep the service available and correct, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, error-free or unchanged. Food data comes from USDA and may change or be unavailable. We may change or stop features.

Liability

The service is free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses caused by using it, for decisions you make based on its estimates, or for recipes that other users share. This does not limit liability where the law does not allow it, for example for losses caused by our gross negligence or intent, and it does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters for your account or your public recipes, we will tell you before it applies. The date at the top shows when they were last changed.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws there. If we cannot resolve a complaint together, you can turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN) or to the courts.
